Rainbow Town Hall: Queer Indigeneity
October 2, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
What does it mean for someone to be both queer and Indigenous, and how do these and other identities intersect? This panel will share perspectives from across Oceania, including Hawai‘i, Palau, and the Cook Islands. These panelists will explore the role of history, colonization, culture and how that has informed their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Join us for a morning with our featured panelists including Kumu Hina, Phylesha Brown-Acton, Sha Merirei Ongelungel, and Kamakakehau Fernandez, and moderated by Akea Kahikina. We will also have a special treat by our musical guest Lina Robins. For more information about our panelists and other Rainbow Town Halls, please visit: https://
Food will be provided for those who join in-person.
NOTE: In this special hybrid event, please reserve a limited ticket for an in-person conversation. Masks, proof of vaccination, and social distancing will be strictly enforced. A reserved ticket is required to attend. If all tickets are no longer available, please email tapu@hawaiilgbtlegacy.com to be put on the waitlist.
