OSHA Guidance on COVID-19 for employers

Get the latest information regarding OSHA’s guidance on COVID-19, how it affects Hawaiʻi employers, and tips to avoid a COVID-19 citation. The webinar will explore real world examples, provide answers to basic questions about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccination claims, and issues regarding employees who continue to work from home.

About the Presenters:

Alan Yamamoto has been with the Hawaiʻi Occupational Safety and Health Division, or HIOSH, for the past 21 years. He spent his first eleven-and-a-half years with the Enforcement Branch of the Division, specializing in Occupational Health. Nine years ago, Alan moved to the Consultation & Training Branch of the Division, where he could better utilize his knowledge and assist employers in creating a safe and healthful workplace, rather than citing and penalizing them.

Brent Daub is the founder and senior partner of Gilson Daub LLP, a defense law firm specializing in workers’ compensation in Hawaiʻi and in six states on the mainland. Brent holds a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and a Masters’ Degree in Dispute Resolution (MD.R.) from Pepperdine University School of Law and has recently graduated with a Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University.

Ron Klapperich, Senior Consultant, holds over twenty years’ experience in the safety profession. He received his B.S. in Environmental Health at the University of Washington and has provided safety consultation to various general industry and construction clients. Ron has provided risk control services in the Workers’ Compensation insurance market for 15 years. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Health Safety Technician (CHST), and a Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and has been a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSE/ASSP) since 1997.
